Author’s hygge way to happiness

Pronounced “hoo-gah”, hygge is a Danish word that refers to creating a cozy atmosphere and savoring life’s simple pleasures. Meik Wiking, author of the bestselling The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living and CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, paid his first visit to China last month. In the latest episode of Easy Talk, a China Daily talk show, he discusses why Denmark frequently tops the world’s happiness polls, and explains the essence of hygge.
