Harbin Beer showcases culture in New York
Harbin Beer company put on an experimental show that blended traditional Chinese culture and street art from the United States at the New York fashion week on Saturday. The show started with a short music piece that was a fusion of Peking Opera and R&B, followed by a catwalk show debuting a collection jointly presented by Harbin Beer and US sports brand PONY. Following the runway show, performances of Chinese martial arts were held, as well as lion and hip-hop dance. The fashion week is being held at Spring Studios in New York City, with additional shows at Industria.
Olympic medals recycled from electronic waste
The organizers of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics have said that all medals for the Summer Games will be manufactured from recycled metals extracted from used phones, laptops and other electronic devices. The Tokyo Organizing Committee said last week that the goal of collecting over 30 kilograms of gold has been almost completed, with the necessary amount of precious metals expected to be gathered by the end of
March. The project, which was launched in April 2017, will see precious metals such as gold, silver and bronze being salvaged from discarded mobile phones and other small electronic devices.
