4 dead, 1 wounded in Chicago shooting
Chicago police said five people were shot, four killed, at an apartment building on the city’s Northwest Side. The Chicago Sun-Times reports the shooting happened around 5:30 pm on Saturday. First Deputy Superintendent Anthony Riccio said a 67-year-old man with a history of conflicts with his neighbors is in custody. Riccio said the man first went into an apartment and shot three men and a woman as they ate dinner. The man then went to a separate unit in the building and shot another woman. Police said one victim is in critical condition. A weapon was recovered. Riccio said the man had a history of complaints from other residents but investigators “don’t know what set him off”. Police said the victims were all adults, though their names have not been released. Mayor Lori Lightfoot called the shooting “devastating”. An investigation is ongoing. such an incident. The Japanese Coast Guard said last week it had rescued about 60 DPRK crew members from the boat. In a statement released by the official Korean Central News Agency, a DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson said a patrol ship of the Japanese Fisheries Agency “committed a gangster act” of sinking the DPRK ship, which was on a normal mission in the waters of the East Sea of Korea. The statement said the Japanese side cannot evade its responsibility for this incident. “If such an incident occurs again, Japan will face an undesirable consequence,” it said.
