Beijing-X7 begins presales

Chinese carmaker BAIC Group unveiled on Monday an SUV called X7. It is the first SUV model under its Beijing brand, with a presale prices starting from 100,000 yuan to 150,000 yuan ($14,000 to $21,000). The SUV, made at the carmaker’s plant in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, features the brand’s family-design language that focuses on confidence, purity, intelligen­ce and warmth. It is built on a platform called the Beijing Modular Functional Architectu­re and has a class-leading segment of 2,800 mm. The model also boasts a number of cutting-edge technologi­es, including face identifica­tion, voice command and a hands-free tailgate. It features a slew of driving assist functions including blind spot detection. Level 2 autonomous driving also comes as standard.
