What they say
Editor's Note: Communist Party of China members who work in the fields of electricity, railways and aerospace met journalists and answered questions about ensuring safety and space exploration on Monday.
I’ve been honored to see many high-speed railways open one after another during my 20 years of work. I’m grateful for the chances I’ve been given to learn, grow and thrive, and now I’m willing to pass on what I have learned to the young, teaching them skills as well as appreciation for society and the country. We will continuously contribute in our roles to step up China’s transition from highspeed to high-quality growth.
Bai Zhiyong, senior survey technician with the fifth branch of China Railway First Group
When it comes to the spirit of model workers, the value of work and the pursuit of fine workmanship, I believe it’s not only technological invention and selfreliance, but also continual improvement and the pursuit of excellence. My team and I will keep going further together in spacecraft research, contributing our best strength to the development of China’s deep space exploration and construction as a space power.
Sun Zezhou, head designer of the Tianwen 1 Mars probe at the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation
Every time after emergency maintenance, I will wait for a while to make sure power transmission is back to normal again. Seeing the residential buildings light up one by one gives me pride and happiness, a sense shared by all of the staff at State Grid Corporation of China. I’m one of the millions of employees who have been sticking to the front line of power supply, fighting for the construction of a new energy system. Clinging to the belief of “repeating simple things and repeating with heart”, I have handled more than 20,000 breakdowns during my 34 years of work and become proficient in urgent repairs.
Zhang Liming, head of the power distribution and emergency maintenance team at State Grid Tianjin Binhai Electric Power Supply Company
Performing our own duty and never forgetting to serve the people, this is how we State-owned enterprise employees in the new era play our pioneering roles. I’m one of the more than 7,000 Huadian employees in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, contributing to the development of Xinjiang’s electric power industry, like poplars taking root in the borderland and eagles flying high in the sky.
Erkin Mehmet, deputy chief engineer at Xinjiang Huadian Kashgar Thermoelectricity
