Ukrainian edition of Xi volume helps build bridges

A Ukrainian edition of the first volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China was released in Kiev on the eve of the 100th anniversar­y of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Along with a ceremony on Wednesday marking its publicatio­n, an event titled the ChinaUkrai­nian Forum on Governance was staged by the State Council Informatio­n Office of China, the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administra­tion and the Chinese embassy in Ukraine.

Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and minister of the State Council Informatio­n Office of China, said in a video speech that the first, second and third volumes of the book comprehens­ively and systematic­ally demonstrat­ed the developmen­t process and main content of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteri­stics for a New Era.

The editions also showed the historical course and great practical activities of the CPC’s governance for a new era, and opened a “window of thoughts” for the internatio­nal community in order for people to gain a better understand­ing of the CPC and China.

Xu said the volumes showed that the CPC firmly adheres to a philosophy of developmen­t that puts the people first and seeks the happiness of the Chinese people. They also described the glorious course guided by the CPC, which has focused on the basic realities of China and is leading national rejuvenati­on.

Peaceful developmen­t

In addition, they explain the CPC’s ideas and propositio­ns that adhere to peaceful developmen­t and the goal of building a better world, while recording the thoughts and practices of the CPC that enable the strict governance over the Party, which has had the courage to reform itself.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal sent a congratula­tory letter to the event. In his letter, which was read by Ukrainian Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov, Shmyhal congratula­ted the CPC on its centenary, and said that the Ukrainian edition will further help Ukrainians understand and learn from China’s experience in state governance.

At the China-Ukrainian Forum on Governance, experts from China and Ukraine agreed that the release of the Ukrainian edition of the first volume of the book will greatly promote awareness and understand­ing among Ukrainians of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteri­stics for a New Era.

In doing so, they will understand the great aim of China’s reform and opening-up, and the great goal of the rejuvenati­on of the Chinese nation.

The first volume of the book has been translated into 34 languages and published in more than 170 countries and regions.
