Yunnan first-half foreign trade soars

Southwest China’s Yunnan province saw its foreign trade rise about 60 percent year-on-year to nearly 150 billion yuan ($23.14 billion) in the first half of this year, according to the provincial statistics bureau. Exports exceeded 82 billion yuan, up 1.17 percent yearon-year, while imports were valued at about 67.3 billion yuan, up 19 percent year-on-year. The province also witnessed its GDP grow 12 percent to more than 1.27 trillion yuan in the first six months of 2021.
