Belgian studio Destroyers/Builders created the ASSEMBLE sofa for Antwerp-based label valerie_objects. Designer and founder Linde Freya Tangelder was inspired by the form of weathered pebbles for the profile of the cushions, and created the filling to be neither too firm nor too soft. As the name suggests, the sofa is a modular system of single or double seats, corner elements, pouffes and side tables that allow the user to assemble their own configuration. ‘This universal fit was a very important feature in my design process,’ says Tangelder.
