Seaside Luxury

-

Along the Andaman coast of Thailand's southern Phang Nga province, just a short drive from Phuket International Airport, is a boutique luxury development like no other. Veyla Natai Residences ( veyla being the Thai word for ‘time' and Sanskrit for ‘a house by the beach') is a new development of freestanding seaside villas, each with unobstructed views of the immaculate Natai Beach and the Andaman Sea. Privacy from the bustle of nearby resort towns is guaranteed thanks to Veyla Natai's location, which is at once easily accessible and secluded.

Only 15 villas make up the exclusive enclave: seven twostorey Veyla Beach Villas sit on beachfront plots, while eight three-storey Veyla Sea Villas offer direct, panoramic ocean views. Complementing the villa's private facilities is an extensive communal area that includes a 25-metrelong swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, an outdoor cinema, a lounge, sun and moon decks, a gym, a sunken dining area and a chef 's table, and even a hidden bar.

The creative minds behind Veyla Natai are two Thai studios, architecture firm Architects 49 House Design (A49HD), which has been creating award-winning homes and resorts for more than 20 years, and landscape architects Sanitas Studio, whose research and work blends landscape architecture and fine art. Both teams were inspired by the local context and set out to create a project in symbiosis with its environment. The colour and materials palette was inspired by the colour of Natai sand, with a monochromatic scheme intended to give residents a sense of peace and calm. The interior design takes cues from Phang Nga's traditional arts and crafts, with traditional textiles and basketry from Takua Thung adding texture to otherwise minimalist styling.

With all this and more, there's no doubt that Veyla Natai will satisfy the growing demand for luxury vacation homes in Thailand.
