Jinyeong Yeon

South Korean designer Jinyeong Yeon has devised an ingenious way to give a second life to padded goose down jackets that remain unsold by garment manufacturers. For his Padded series of chairs and benches, Yeon redesigned and recombined the unwanted jackets into furniture objects, purposefully keeping the pockets and seams intact to remind users of the objects’ previous lives. Sculptural and humorous yet inviting, a Padded seat makes a statement in any room.
