Nature Squared × Elaine Yan Ling Ng

Imagined by Hong Kong-based multimedia artist and textile designer Elaine Yan Ling Ng for ethical design brand Nature Squared, CArrelé is a collection of multipurpose tiles and small items

made from recycled eggshells. Produced in the Philippines, each square metre of tile is made from 3,000 organic discarded eggshells, which are crushed, combined with a binding agent and cured at room temperature. The collection, launched at Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan during Salone del Mobile 2021, is a timely exploration of consumption and waste management patterns.
