US-based boutique group Ace Hotel is opening its first Australian property in Sydney's trendy Surry Hills, just steps away from the city's business district. Built on the site of Tyne House, a brick factory dating to 1916, the new 264-room hotel comes with interiors by Melbourne's Flack Studio, which drew inspiration from the neighbourhood's history and cool contemporary culture, as well as the country's landscape. The hotel celebrates Ace's approach to food, art and design, and with promises of experiential art exhibitions, film screenings, book launches, culinary events and even music festivals, it's sure to be a hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
