The Standard has opened its first outpost in Thailand, a seaside resort in the chic beach town of Hua Hin featuring 178 guestrooms and 21 pool villas. Designed by local architecture firm Onion, the hotel's style evokes Le Corbusier, with clean lines and modernist touches that are echoed in the interiors by other local creatives Studio Freehand and interior designer Shelley Kwok — though there are plenty of references to local artistry and traditions. While the resort is within walking distance of Hua Hin town, its beach bar, open-air dining spots, beach access and sparkling pools offer all the R&R you'd want from a city escape.
