Hong Kong-based multidisciplinary design studio Florian and Christine has created the Tactile Light, an exploration into how traditional craft and modern technology can be brought together in a contemporary light. Supported by Hong Kong's Design Trust, the Tactile Light experiments with combining old and new craft processes — in this case programmable lights and 3D knitting with traditional hand embroidery. The light is another stunning example of Florian Wegenast and Christine Lew's research into heritage crafts to create what they refer to as ‘hybrid craft', a means of preserving heritage skills for the future.
