Design Anthology - Asia Pacific Edition
Located in the affluent Aoyama district, the Minotti by Sukeno flagship has undergone a recent restyling. A vertical climbing garden snakes up the exterior wall of the two-storey building, backgrounding Minotti’s outdoor pieces by the likes of GamFratesi and nendo, while inside, two living areas now house the Brasilia seating system by Marcio Kogan of studio mk27 and the Roger seating system by Rodolfo Dordoni, both of which form natural gathering spaces in the residential mise en scène.
Upstairs in the master bedroom, Kogan’s Brasilia bed and pieces from his Studio collection conjure a serene, artful space. The elegant, minimalist set-ups, gentle colour palette and floor-to-ceiling windows mean visitors can be immersed in both the showroom and the neighbourhood. ‘More than just a store, it appears to the visitor as a two-storey villa, a stylish spot devoted to the Minotti world, which we intended to blend in seamlessly with the local surroundings,’ said Susanna Minotti, head of interior decoration.
