Design Anthology - Asia Pacific Edition
Matthew Fisher
Known for crafting timeless, fantastical stone vessels, American designer Matthew Fisher has returned with a second collection, for which he experiments with incorporating cotton textile knots into stonework. Named after the Cretan princess, the Ariadne collection references ancient mythology and the story of the princess and Athenian hero Theseus, who slayed a Minotaur and was helped to escape by Ariadne’s thread. The resulting pieces — vessels, bowls, candelabras and lanterns — are organic and tactile, sculptures in their own rights.
