Hair Removal:

-

Fuss- and fuzz-free deals

After all the bumps and rough edges of 2020, we’re all looking forward to a sleeker, smoother year. Why not make it a smoother year for your body too? Hong Kong’s international hair and skincare salon Glow offers a range of hair removal treatments to get you sorted.

In addition to IPL and waxing, laser hair removal is a popular option at the salon. This tried and tested means of achieving near-total hair reduction for extended periods has been available since the early 2000s. It utilises a wellunderstood mechanism to trigger hair fall and significantly reduce regrowth.

We asked Glow’s aestheticians JAY TSUI and CANDY LEE for more details.

What machines do you use for laser hair removal?

Our laser machines are new from October 2019 and employ the latest technology. The continuous-pulse 808nm (nanometre) and 810nm units feature a super chilled handpiece, which ensures minimal discomfort while still allowing for rapid, continuous coverage of even large areas.

What kind of treatments do you offer?

A treatment course typically consists of a consultation and patch test followed by six therapy sessions; there’s also a complimentary 12-month touch-up period that commences on the completion of your sixth treatment.

We also offer single treatments for those people looking for a “top-up” treatment or for those people who prefer to pay session by session.

What results can I expect after a six-session course?

Six treatments would typically be enough to attain neartotal achievable hair reduction, with a 70 percent reduction considered a successful result. Achieving these optimum results would require completing the course of treatment within a maximum of nine months.

How do I get started?

You can book a free, no-pressure consultation and patch test today. At Glow, we have a “No Hard Sell” policy; our aestheticians are trained in the theory, technology and techniques of your treatment, and are happy to share their knowledge.

Hair today, gone tomorrow! If that’s a motto you’re keen to put into action – whether you’re an unhappy shaver or you just want a solution that lasts longer – here’s a great way to go fuzz-free.

Glow is at 8/F, Silver Fortune Plaza, 1 Wellington Street, Central (five minutes from Central MTR).

Chef Ash Salmon has created a divine-sounding Christmas menu for guests to enjoy at Roganic. His contemporary style of European cooking combined with the restaurant’s emphasis on the best ingredients – locally obtained wherever possible – will be at the forefront of the menu, which has a roast turkey with all the trimmings as its centrepiece. Other dishes include caramelised chestnut, hazelnut and apple with house caviar, and prawn, pickled celery and dried tomato.

Oh, and the sweets sound dreamy – a 70 percent chocolate fondant featuring tonka bean and milk ice cream, and a good ol’ Christmas mince pudding.

The menu is available on 24 and 25 December, for both lunch and dinner, and costs from HK$980 per person.

The menu is available lunch and dinner; you just need to order 48 hours in advance.

On Christmas Day itself, there’s a special HK$588 menu available from 12pm to 6pm, again featuring starters, mains, sides and desserts for sharing, with all the smoky goodness of the restaurant’s signature meats and more.
