My Next Guest Needs No Introduction

I can’t say I’ve watched many episodes of Late Night with David Letterman, but I’m enjoying his new Netflix talk show. Letterman interviews guests in a conversational style and in a variety of settings. Viewers are taken to Mumbai to meet Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan, for example, to Oxford for a chat with Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, and to the wilds of Utah on a horse ride with palaeontologist Christa Sadler. The first season opened with a sit-down with Barack Obama shortly after his presidency finished, while Season 4 premiered this year with six episodes, and guests including Billie Eilish and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. My absolute favourite episode is the Season 1 bonus, titled “You’re Dave Letterman, You Idiot”. This line is uttered by Dave’s guest, comedian Jerry Seinfeld, as the two greats talk about their careers and memories.
