Charity and golf does often go hand-in-hand as evidenced by the success of APIC'S 3rd Charity golf event which raised a total of RM180,000 at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club. The third installation of the charity golf event saw a full field of 136 golfers in 34 flights taking to the par-72 course for a great cause.

Proceeds from the charity tournament went to Persatuan Penjagaan Kanakkanak Cacat Klang Selangor or PPKKCKS, and is currently taking care of over 80 handicapped children. The home has a monthly expense requirement of RM40,000 to RM50,000, Chief Executive Officer of the APIC Group of Companies, Mr T.O. Tan pointed out that the yearly charity golf event had contributed to the coffers of the charitable organisation to keep it going.

In his speech, Tan thanked the golfers who contributed RM5,000 per flight of four players for a great round of golf and an excellent cause. Tan urged the golfers to take their time off to visit the home and to witness for themselves the actual daily activities of the children at the home. “Speak to the volunteers, some of whom have been with the organisation for more than 15 years, for a better picture of their work for the children and the home,” he said.

The amount raised at the APIC 3rd Charity Golf through participation fees, auctions and direct donations by participants surpassed last year’s collection of RM140,000. There were 132 golfers in 33 flights at last year’s event. The success of the APIC 3rd Charity Golf was made possible by the support of 44 corporate companies and individuals. A representative from Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-kanak Cacat Klang Selangor expressed his gratitude towards the players, APIC Group of Companies and Transview Events, which was the event organiser.
