Baume & Mercier main sponsor for the 62nd Taorminafilmfest

Baume & Mercier was the main partner of the 62nd Taorminafilmfest and Richard Geere was the Honorary President. On 8 June 2016, A charity dinner took place at the American Embassy in Rome. Alain Zimmermann, CEO OF Baume & Mercier, presented Richard Gere, at the preview screening of the movie “Time Out Of Mind”, the first of the limited edition watch “Clifton Taormina Award” was auctioned off to a secret buyer during the opening night of the 62nd Taorminafilmfest. All proceeds went to the Federazione Fio.psd (the Italian Federation of Organisations for Homeless people) on behalf of the #Homelesszero campaign.

The “Clifton Taormina Award” was designed to celebrate the art of film. The 39mm 19K red gold case is enhanced by the sapphire case back adorned with the festival’s logo, while the design of its minuterie track is reminiscent of a film reel. It has been produced in a series of 62 pieces to celebrate the 62nd edition of the Festival and was made available from Jun 2016, exclusively in Italy.

We are very happy to contribute to the organization of the #Homelesszero evening, where over 300 homeless people from Messina, Ragusa, Agrigento, Piana degli Albanesi, Palermo, Catania, Syracuse, Monreale, Mazzara del Vallo, Caltagirone, Acireale and Caltanisetta will be hosted at the theater Teatro Antico in the city of Taormina,” shared further by Alain Zimmermann.

Baume & Mercier also presented awards to many international figures: Harvey Keitel, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Hall, Kathrin Hah just to name a few. Actors received the “Clifton Taormina Award” while actresses received the “Promesse Taormina Award”.
