BLUNT Umbrellas expands into South East Asia
BLUNT Umbrellas, a global umbrella company known to produce the world’s strongest umbrellas has stamped its mark in Kuala Lumpur with the opening of its first ever BLUNT Premium Store. Located strategically in the golden triangle area of Kuala Lumpur, the store will house the full range of BLUNT Umbrellas – from golf to lifestyle in a variety of colours and features.

Showcasing the new level of innovation, quality, style, strength and durability that BLUNT Umbrellas has achieved with its patented design. BLUNT stands for innovation and quality deciding the future,” BLUNT representative, Jong Chung commented.
In celebration of the opening of the store, BLUNT Malaysia announced a nation-wide talent search contest to find the face of BLUNT Malaysia. The winner of this inaugural online competition will be crowned Miss BLUNT Malaysia 2017 and take home over RM 13,000 worth of cash and merchandises, which include SHUZI USA jewellery. On top of that, the winner will also walk away with two night weekend getaway stay at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, receiving 10x power plate sessions and 10x golf lessons at Indoor Golf, Mandarin Oriental. The winner will be the face for BLUNT Malaysia’s advertising and campaigns of 2017/2018. Each of the five finalists will receive a BLUNT Classic umbrella and be next in line for other BLUNT media placements.

Premium Store Malaysia, Dato’ Hock Toh said, “The contest is unlike any other beauty contest because it is fully digital with the judging process running via social page based on popular vote. Plus, we emphasise on the ‘look’ minus the restrictions of height, weight, race or age. The winner could just be the girl next door!”
Aside to the social voting mechanism, an esteemed panel of judges consisting of highly experienced beauty queens will also adjudicate the contestants. They will cast their final wildcard votes, further adding excitement to the selection process of the winner. The four judges include Miss Astro 2015, Janice Choong; Miss Malaysia Universe 1978, radio personality and celebrity host, Dato’ Yasmin Yusuff; Miss World Singapore 2000/2001, Charlyn Ding and Miss World Malaysia 2013 First Runner Up, L’oreal Mok.
When asked about the contest Mok exclaimed, “This is great! While Dato’ Yasmin shared that the contest is a novel one because they are looking for real personalities without the usual beauty contest criteria. “It will be interesting to see the outcome of the contest and whether it will unveil some hidden gems or talent out there, this is going to be fun.”
The Face of BLUNT Model Search 2017 contest officially kicked off on 20th April 2017, there were no entry fees and participants were just required to submit an unedited photo of themselves posing with a BLUNT Umbrella to www.facebook. com/bluntmodelsearch by 30 June 2017 with the winner to be announced shortly.
