Team Great Britain Wins In Majorca
Porsche Golf Cup enjoys record number of participants
Interest in the game of golf is growing among Porsche customers with more than 12,000 amateur golfers competing in over 220 preliminary tournaments around the world in the 2016 Porsche Golf Cup, a record number. The top 98 players from 20 different countries went head to head from 8th to 11th May in the Porsche Golf Cup World Final on the Spanish island of Majorca in the Mediterranean and Team Great Britain emerged victorious in the Nations Cup.
The British team finished ahead of their counterparts from Austria and France after two rounds in excellent conditions at the Son Gual and Alcanada golf courses. The five members of the victorious British team each received a place among the starting field for the Pro-am tournament at this year’s Porsche European Open (27th to 30th July, Green Eagle Golf Courses, Hamburg).
The winner of the ladies gross competition was Minako Mitsugi from Japan. In the men’s singles, victory in the gross competition went to Brazil’s Renato Song. Unfortunately, none of the participants managed to drive away in this year’s Hole-in-one Prize, a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet.
