A suc­cess­ful seven day spec­ta­cle of watches, jew­ellery and gem­stones

Sum­marised by Basel­world's Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Sylvie Rit­ter at the clos­ing press con­fer­ence, stat­ing this year's edi­tion has proved to be suc­cess­ful. With a ma­jor­ity of ex­hibitors re­port­ing very sat­is­fac­tory busi­ness re­sults de­spite the show be­ing two days shorter than pre­vi­ous edi­tions, the over­all num­ber of vis­i­tors re­mained un­changed and the new for­mat, with fewer ex­hibitors and a shorter du­ra­tion, was very well re­ceived.

De­fin­i­tive com­mit­ments have been re­ceived from Rolex, Swatch Group, Patek Philippe, LVMH, Chopard, Bre­itling, Chanel and many other brands. For the next edi­tion, the show will also work on new de­vel­op­ments, work­ing closely with ex­hibitors to de­fine new for­mats for the var­i­ous sec­tors, of­fer­ing medium-sized
