Chopard L.U.C Gentlemen's Evening In Singapore
An Exclusive Evening of Sustainable Luxury with Chopard
Pervaded by a distinct masculine atmosphere, Chopard hosted an exclusive L.U.C Gentlemen's evening at the prestigious member's club, 1880 Singapore.
Hosted by Karl-friedrich Scheufele, Co-president of Chopard, his wife Christine Scheufele and 1880's Singapore Founder Marc Nicholson, the event saw the attendance of watch aficionados, members of the press as well as horology collectors.
Guests were welcomed into the lounge upon arrival for cocktails and to view a specially curated L.U.C Metiers d'art exhibition highlighting the epitome of luxurious timepieces and fine examples of mastery and craftsmanship. The fascinating Métiers d'art watch dial's reflections create a luminous harmony and enchant anyone who sees them.
As part of the evening, there was a panel discussion with four industry thought leaders on the importance of sustainability and its influence on business goals today. Part of the discussion also touched on Chopard's Journey to Sustainable Luxury and the impact it has on the watch and jewellery industry, as well as topics in relation to sustainable efforts in different luxury industries, sustainability from a collector's point of view and the future of which. The panelists consisted of Karl-friedrich Scheufele, Marc Nicholson as Moderator, Wei Koh (Founder of Revolution & The Rake Magazine) and Christine Amour Lavar (Social Entrepreneur & Environmental Advocate).
After the panel discussion concluded, guests were able to explore the club and enjoy the cigar bar and experience cognac appreciation to understand the various styles, alcohol levels and ways to draw out the spirit's flavor. As part of a personalized experience, guests were invited to customize their initials on their personally selected pocket squares or neck ties. A master calligrapher was also on hand to engrave a classic flask for that personal touch, illustrating the way of life of the contemporary gentlemen by making their mark in current times.
The delectable premium selection of gastronomic delights together with a premium cheese and dessert station complimented with wines and champagnes kept everyone sated, as the mood was set by the lovely jazz band led by Ms Alicia Pan with a selection of evergreens.
Launched in 2013 in partnership with Eco-age, The Journey to Sustainable Luxury is Chopard's commitment to sourcing responsibly and helping the real people in its supply chain who are all too often overlooked. An exciting and ambitious multi-year programme, it has now delivered global market leadership and differentiation from competitors.
The Journey began with a world first that saw Chopard forge a philanthropic relationship with the influential South American mining NGO, the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM). Chopard became the world's first watch and luxury jewellery company to support and enable gold mining communities to reach Fairmined certification and provide training, social welfare and environmental support. To date, two mines in Latin America (in Colombia and Bolivia) have now achieved Fairmined certification through Chopard's direct support.
