IAN POULTER’S TAUNTING TEAM USA TEE

-

Chest thumping with eyeballs bulging, that's the Ian Poulter many a vanquished Ryder Cup opponent recalls. Four winning European Ryder Cup squads, a 14-6-2 record including 5-0-1 in singles earns Poulter the right to trash talk on account of his match play success, especially after Medinah in 2012.

On Twitter recently, he took the mickey out of the Americans by donning a Team USA “Beat Europe” t-shirt and posted a photo asking, “Can anyone spot the mistake?”

Delivering the punchline in an update, Poulter added the word “couldn't” in marker, so the shirt then read “Couldn't beat Europe.” And for emphasis, he held the Ryder Cup front and centre.

Comments from both sides of the pond ranged from approval from teammate Rory Mcilroy, to an eye roll from Jordan Spieth, and tears of laughter from Brooks Koepka.
