JORDAN SPIETH DRAINS PUTT FROM 91 FEET AWAY AT HAWAII’S SONY OPEN

-

At his peak, Jordan Spieth was draining putts from every corner of the green, the confidence with which this young man wielded the flagstick from mid to long range was almost without compare. The most impressive display of his putting prowess was the memorable eagle on the 15th of Royal Birkdale during the final round of the Open Championship.

He's sunk many a clutch putt down the stretch, the longest of which is a 52-footer he made at the Valspar Championship in 2016. Spieth has now bested himself at almost twice the length at the recent Sony Open in Hawaii. On the par-4 fifth hole at Waialae Country Club, Spieth faced a 91-foot monster putt for birdie to get to one under, and according to Golf Channel analyst Jim Mackay, there were at least three different breaks. The three-time major champion stepped up to the plate and banged it off the backboard to make the 91-footer officially the longest putt sunk in competition of his career.
