Xtreme Traxion, Stability And Comfort

The New TOUR360 Shoes Features the First-ever Spikeless TOUR360

-

adidas is taking performance golf footwear to the next level with the announcement of the TOUR360 XT, its newest model that features the highestperforming cleated outsole to date. Included are two alternative spikeless models, the first-ever spikeless version of the TOUR360 series, the TOUR360 XT SL, and the TOUR360 XT SL BOA laceless version.

XT for X-traxion, refers to the X-shaped traction system on the outsole, designed to provide multi-directional grip throughout the swing. According to Adidas, X-shaped lugs provide more stability and better traction reaction through uneven lies due to their eight-sided touch points. Players will be able to feel even more locked in throughout the swing as a result. All three models feature X-traxion for the best grip with no loss of foot comfort.

The TOUR360 XT SL changes the definition of what a performance golf shoe can be as the first highly technical spikeless TOUR360 by adidas. Everyone wants a shoe that’s extremely comfortable, yet still provides the stability and traction needed for the golf swing, not always possible as comfort and traction aren’t the best of bedfellows, until now. The

X-traxion lug system covers the entire outsole, and is strategically placed for the comfort of spikeless while still maintaining grip expected of a high-performance shoe. The lugs vary in height, allowing for some to go deeper into the ground for increased overall traction. Another feature is the X-torsion system through the midfoot for additional stability and control. Also X shaped, the X-torsion system connects the heel and forefoot, visible through the TPU outsole. Fulllength BOOST foam in the midsole returns energy with every stride and staves off foot fatigue late in the round. The TOUR360 XT SL comes in four colours with a one-year waterproof warranty.

“We wanted to make the highest performing spikeless shoe in the industry,” said Masun Denison, global footwear director, adidas Golf. “We tested all shapes and configurations and found that the X-shape, along with a rubberized TPU outsole, provided unmatched grip, stability, flexibility and performance. The X-shape also increases ground contact and provides more comfort on all surfaces.”

Completely redesigned, the TOUR360 XT new TPU outsole now has eight-spikes in combination with the X-traxion secondary lugs. By removing two spikes from the previous model, flexibility and comfort has increased with no loss of grip, the shoe is also lighter. Re-engineered BOOST pieces in the heel and forefoot are now slightly wider and improve both stability and comfort, and the lower profile improves aesthetics while giving a better feel of the ground. Underneath the 3-Stripes in the TOUR360 XT, a new forging technique heats that portion of the upper to increase midfoot stability and save more weight. The TOUR360 XT features a premium leather upper, a two-year waterproof warranty, and will be available in four colours.

The TOUR360 XT SL BOA is everything the TOUR360 XT SL is, save for the L6 BOA® closure system on the tongue for easy customisable micro-adjustability. A new INSITE® sockliner (featured in all three models) improves stability and balance by cupping the heel, promoting better posture; vital since setup is everything in golf. The TOUR360 XT SL BOA comes in a microfiber leather upper, a one-year waterproof warranty, and will be available in two colours.

The TOUR360 XT and TOUR360 XT SL come in both medium and wide options while the TOUR360 XT BOA comes in wide only. All three models feature a brand new last for improved aesthetics, more forefoot width and a slightly lower ceiling.
