Holidays As It Should Be
Evolved From Clients Desires, Gourmet Trails Curates Holidays For The Food Lover
An ideal holiday is about exploring the sights and savouring the cuisine; experiencing a destination through sight, touch, smell and taste, it is a feast for the senses. And that is why the good folks at Gourmet Trails believe in genuine connections, and that food is the conduit that speaks a universal language in making those connections.
While one can't deny that sitting down to a good meal is a sensorial experience that makes up a major part of a memorable holiday, traveling to see the world also means having the time to appreciate its natural beauty and being immersed in local culture in an expansion of mind and soul. Ultimately, it is travel that suits your spirit… so that on your return, you remember an inspiring journey and come home feeling inspired.
It is with this understanding in mind that Gourmet Trails was created by custom travel specialist Reveplanner Travel in 2009, who started off providing travel consultancy to those seeking to truly experience a destination.
Instead of whirlwind schedules that wear out the traveller, holiday itineraries are individually crafted to create memorable trips filled with experiences and fun. They offer unique experiences across 5 continents and end-to-end travel arrangements, including restaurant reservations, all taken care of.
Created by founder Pamela Tan, a self-confessed travel bug who's had her fair share of travel from backpacking trips to luxury journeys, she has come to truly believe in personalized traveling since it is your holiday, and you should travel your way. As she explains, “We put extra thought into optimizing logistics so that sightseeing is a breeze. Itineraries are created to suit your pace and allow time for you to truly experience a place. We continuously travel for research and update food recommendations to offer you the chance to taste the latest and best local dishes in authentic settings.
“Weaving into destinations we visit as temporary locals instead of tourists, naturally promotes greener travel and supports local businesses. It allows truly immersive experiences and real connections with the people we meet. Seeing the world through a different lens and coming home a little wiser. Isn't that why we travel after all?
“Gourmet Trails evolved out of demand from our loyal clients, savvy travelers who enjoy good food as much as traveling. The world is beautiful and diverse and I believe destinations deserve more than a tick in beenhere-seen-it lists. Our idea of a perfect holiday is when you stand in awe of nature, immerse in local cultures, and meet new foods.”
And so how is Gourmet Trails wonderfully different? They believe that holidays should not be over-planned or packed with hard schedules. The perfect travel pace involves just the right balance of sightseeing, dining and whatever you enjoy.
A fully custom itinerary means every trip is uniquely designed to fit your interests, with handpicked accommodation to match your style & budget. All of which is packaged into your very own unique Travel Kit.
And this being Gourmet Trails, not just
food, but amazing regional food is integral to the entire travel experience. Confirmed reservations to the tastiest authentic eats; fine dining, grandma's cooking, street stalls, patisseries, gastronomy in all its forms. Savour flavors and dining cultures of the world, from hidden gems to famous cuisine designed to your dining itinerary; complete with conversations, perhaps over a glass of wine, with handpicked amazing hosts, expert guides, chefs and growers with big hearts.
Guiding you before, during and after your gastronomic gallivanting, is your custom travel kit. More than just the usual paper itinerary, it contains sightseeing information, amazing food recommendations and appointment reminders, and booking vouchers emailed to you and viewable in the App. Leading up to your personal gourmet trail, receive real time updates and messaging, with changes to your itinerary updated real time. And should you need to speak to someone, communicate quickly and efficiently with your travel designer via App messages.
All in the palm of your hand, you can easily view your itinerary from your smartphone or tablet while on the go. And your itinerary stays with you even after the trip, allowing you to flick through past holidays and reminisce over good times.
So you won't get lost, there is a GPS navigation option for self exploration or days at leisure to help you get to your destination accurately on foot, by car or via the city subway. It's like having your own pocket concierge with you during the whole holiday.
Rather than by destinations, Gourmet Trails has opted to design holidays by taste and interest. Destinations by taste include seasonal specials, wine and whiskey, Michelin starred dining, Japanese Washoku, or a gourmet weekend.
Or if you choose by interest, then opt for self drive getaways, rejuvenating retreats, cruises and yachts, beautiful remote places, luxury rail journeys, or a ski, snow, and glacier holiday.
Designed to be kept intimate, each travel experience has a maximum of 10 like-minded travellers in a group, or if you like, Gourmet Travels designs personal and private holidays. And should you be seeking ideas or want to jump start your next gourmet getaway, Gourmet Trails already have a few upcoming seasonal trips planned.
