Sonos Makes It Home

Sonos Invited The Public Into Their Ultimate Living Room For A Moving Experience

-

It's been said that music soothes the savage beast, but that's just one dimension of music oft put forth in an overused phrase.

Enter Sonos, known for their easy-touse wireless home sound systems. Their ethos is to improve the music experience in the home for years after buying a Sonos, changing the way people listen to music, one home at a time.

So earlier this year, the company created the ultimate dream living room for an unparalleled listening experience over at Millenia Walk. This pop-up showcased an extensive range of Sonos' suite of products and featured curated workshops for the public where they learned how Sonos could transform the home with music, helping them to live better.

Ahead of the week-long experience, media were invited for an exclusive first-look of the space, led by Christian Honegger, CEO of TC Acoustic, the main distributor of Sonos in Singapore. And it was during his presentation, which came across as more of a living room conversation, exactly as intended, that Christian revealed how music within the context of the home, made so much difference not just to our personal lives, but how it drew people together in a shared emotional experience derived from a shared musical experience. In other words, sharing music over a speaker tended to break down barriers and create more positive behaviour like more togetherness, happiness, and love. Sharing the nugget of how when music plays out loud, 47% admitted to saying “I love you” as a result of the song they heard, and how there's 67% more intimate moments, Christian jokingly

advised cautioned on the use of music in the bedroom, drawing laughter from the audience as they sipped on their gula melaka coffees.

The numbers quoted were derived from a survey that showed how music made a positive impact on peoples' lives, and was shared in a graphically interesting exhibition that was one part of the pop-up experience. Ensconced in a multi-room backdrop, Sonos' system of smart speakers and playbars were shown how they can be thoughtfully executed to fit any home environment.

Members of the public were invited to drop in on the Sonos ultimate dream living room pop-up for a fun, hands-on time; to discover the new Hay for Sonos limited edition collection, and how easy it was to set up to the voice control of the speakers, and experience amazing sound in every room, all over the house. Apart from showcasing an extensive range of Sonos' suite of products, there were featured curated workshops on home design, healthy living, and renovation, with star influencers like Daniel Ong and Kelly Latimer. All while enjoying a cuppa Huggs freshly brewed coffee or a glass of wine.
