Will Pan Is Timberland's Brand Ambassador
Taiwanese Star To Champion Timberland’s Dedication to Sustainability
Award-winning Asian musician, actor and entrepreneur, Will Pan, is the new face and APAC Brand Ambassador for Timberland in 2019. Long admired across Asia for the versatility of his creative projects in music, entertainment and fashion, he enjoys widespread popularity in the region and has a unique position as a fashion icon, but it is Pan’s
long-term commitment to community outreach and environmental sustainability that has impressed Timberland the most.
Timberland seeks to inspire fans to step outside, collaborate with one another, and improve the world in any way possible, actions that Pan has pledged to advocate by joining Timberland’s Nature Needs Heroes campaign in 2019. Nature Needs Heroes is a clarion call for immediate action that is necessary to protect our environment. In collaboration with Timberland and the company’s other heroes from around the world, Pan will champion sustainability and represent Asia throughout the global Nature Needs Heroes campaign. By encouraging his supporters to follow his lead and wear the
Timberland badge, Pan will be highlighting environmentalism in an awakening region.
Earlier this year, Timberland invited Pan to witness how the brand incorporates responsibly designed products into their collections when he was introduced to Timberland Global Creative Director, Christopher Raeburn during London Fashion Week Men’s.
Visiting the RAEBURN Lab in Hackney, Raeburn demonstrated to Pan how he works with Timberland to balance fashion and environmentalism. Pan will carry this message forward when he joins Timberland and the non-profit organization Green Network in Inner Mongolia, planting trees to raise awareness for the Horqin Desert reforestation project. Supported by Timberland for years, the initiative aims to help reduce the widespread damage caused by sandstorms creating natural barriers in the desert. Since the project began in 2001, Timberland has planted more than 2.6 million trees in China, out of a total of 9.7 million trees planted worldwide by the company.
Later this year, Pan will also participate in a F19 Nature Needs Heroes event in Asia, where he’ll introduce new Timberland footwear and apparel collections that feature recycled materials such as REBOTLTM, recycled rubber, and recycled polyester. REBOTLTM is a proprietary material that contains at least 40% recycled PET, the same material used to make plastic bottles, that is weaved into yarns for use in Timberland products and accessories. Since 2009, the company has recycled more than 310 million plastic bottles, using recycled PET in its footwear, and Pan’s support will raise attention for responsible design in Asia.
Throughout his career, Pan has continually demonstrated his dedication to the same beliefs that have proudly defined Timberland. With this partnership, Timberland is confident they’ve found the right advocate in Pan to wear their badge and represent their values of inspiration, collaboration, and sustainability.
