IMC-TSAO Foundation Charity Golf 2019
Over S$250,000 Raised At 13th Charity Golf Event
IMC Industrial Group (IMCIG) and Tsao Foundation teed off at Tanah Merah Country Club’s Tampines course on 11th October, raising more than S$250,000 at Foundation’s annual charity golf event.
The regular event on the golfing calendar was an enjoyable day of corporate and social golf, and a success in no small part to the generous contributions of IMCIG’S business partners, and also Tsao Foundation’s longtime event partner, Tanah Merah Country Club, as well as regular donors and committed volunteers of both organisations.
Dr Mary Ann Tsao, Chairman of Tsao Foundation, said, “We are very thankful to have such committed support from our partners, donors, and volunteers who worked hard to put together the charity event and raised the funds vital for older people in need. It is our hope that everyone enjoyed themselves today, getting into the swing of giving back to the community while raising awareness for the crucial issue of developing better eldercare.”
She added, “These funds will go a long way in sustaining Tsao Foundation’s dayto-day eldercare services at the Hua Mei Centre for Successful Ageing (HMCSA), which has served elders and their families in need since its inception in 1993, and in supporting our new initiatives under the Community for Successful Ageing (COMSA)”.
These efforts are timely as Tsao Foundation recently launched expansions of their eldercare capabilities earlier this year, positioning Whampoa Community Centre as a one-stop Longevity Central with a service helpline, community library, and a pilot primary care cum care management service for older parents with adult intellectually disabled children.
Mr Ryan Chan, Group Managing Director, IMC Industrial Group, said: “We are pleased to have the ardent support of our business partners who contributed golf flights and cash donations. Over the years, this annual fundraising effort has continued to benefit the 3,500 elderly, enabling them to lead enriched lives through holistic and adequate healthcare support at Tsao Foundation.”
Mr Er Kwong Wah, Chairman of IMCTSAO Foundation Charity Golf, expressed gratitude for the events’ continued success over the years. “The annual charity golf is an example of how private companies and individuals form a lasting relationship over a common cause. It also inspires and enables them to work towards cocreating a Singapore for all ages to live and age well together. The Committee may take a rest after the event but the Foundation will continue to strive for more meaningful partnerships with private and public enterprises to do more for ageing Singapore. We are also pleased to know that the final total amount raised – including all matching funds and grants – will bring much relief and joy to many more vulnerable seniors.”
