VERDICT Lower MOI (forgiveness), but better accuracy is a tough concept to get your head around, but it was the marketing story behind Mavrik. The Epic Speed operates along those same lines as it’s designed to be fast and long, with dispersion controlled by the A.I. face managing spin. Epic Speed isn’t a traditional forgiving driver: spray shots around the face and you’ll be better off with the more forgiving Epic Max. But impact shots reasonably consistently and it’s fast and long – indeed, it’s three yards out in front of any other driver we’ve tested this year. That speed doesn’t come with big drop-offs in carry distance either: this was fourth-best at protecting carry distance, giving up just 4.9% of carry on mishits, too.
