Venice Hospitality Challenge 2021

A Regatta In The Heart Of The City

-

The Venice Boat Show was the venue at which The Venice Hospitality Challenge 2021 was announced and presented at the Torre Nuova of the Arsenal. This eighth edition of the famous regatta, the one and only sailing competition that takes place in the heart of the city, is part of the celebrations for the 1600 years of the long and significant past of the Serenissima. One that has crossed the ages and enriched itself through history, art and traditions.

The regatta, reserved only for maxi yachts at the invitation of the Yacht Club Venezia, will take place on Saturday 16 October. An opportunity not to be missed, public and fans will be able to admire famous skippers barely meters from the banks fighting

to compete for the coveted “Doge’s Hat”, symbol of the event. The last edition of the Venice Hospitality Challenge ended with the Overall and Class 1 victory of Portopiccolo Prosecco Doc - Hilton Molino Stucky, skipper Claudio Demartis and helmed by Stefano Cherin.

“Eight years ago the first Venice Hospitality Challenge was born” - said Mirko Sguario, creator of the regatta and president of the Venice Yacht Club - “Since then, our commitment has been aimed at involving Venice and all Venetians in an event that is increasingly more exciting and engaging. You already know - in terms of format this regatta is unique in the world, comparable only to the Formula 1 Grand Prix of

Monte-carlo. In fact, it should not be forgotten that Venice, integrated into such an extraordinary and peculiar environmental context, is intimately linked to the uniqueness of its cultural values which, like the poles that support its buildings, have their roots in the sea. The hotels participating in the VHC and which have joined since the first edition, represent the prestige and hospitality of a city that has never ceased to amaze the world for sixteen hundred years.”

Lorenza Lain, General Manager of Ca’ Sagredo Hôtel and Antonello De Medici for Hilton Molino Stucky underlined the importance of Venice for the recovery of the national economy in terms of tourism and the significance of this exclusive event that takes place on a surprising stage like what only the Serenissima can offer.

Arianna Nardi, Marketing Director of Generali Italia, commented: “Generali Italia has been supporting the Venice Hospitality Challenge for years and renews its commitment to a city to which it is linked by history but above all for its openness to sport, well-being and healthy lifestyle of people. A commitment that we carry out daily with our Agents, Life Partners in the relevant moments of our customers.“
