Before the flourish of artisanal branded clubs, there was Honma with its Beres line of super-premium clubs for golfers who demanded more from their equipment beyond the run-of-the-mill. And it is for the golfer seeking the ultimate in high performance and luxury golf equipment that Honma extends its Beres putter line-up with the launch of the P303 and P308 mallet models.

The exquisitely finished new mallet style putters have been designed to deliver increased stability over long and shorts putts, while offering a striking and confidence-inspiring appearance at address.

In creating the P303 and P308 putters in Sakata, Japan, more than 100 Takumi or master craftsmen, apply meticulous club building expertise in combination with modern putter concepts to deliver the highest level of performance on the greens.

BERES P303

The fang-mallet style of the P303 putter, along with an aluminium sole, ensures weight is evenly distributed across the entire club face from toe-to-heel. This generates the high MOI that increases stability throughout the stroke and a more consistent roll off the club face, even on putts that are mishit.

Forged, then CNC milled, the putter head with 2 degrees of loft features strategically engineered double milling across the face, ensuring the ball remains in contact with the grooves for longer, to enhance control and deliver a soft feel on the greens.

Three sight lines make it easier to align the putter to the target. Knowing that the ball will consistently start on its intended line frees up the golfer to confidently make a smooth putting stroke.

BERES P308

Distinctively T-shaped, the P308 putter touts a high MOI for increased stroke stability and forgiveness on off-centre strikes. The aluminium sole weight low and back in the putter head achieves a deep CG for optimal launch and spin. Roll has improved 13% over the previous generation PP202 mallet.

The forged CNC milled head with 2.5 degrees of loft also features precise double face milling for control, while the three sight lines with parallel alignment cues encourage a smooth confident stroke.

Across both putter models, the lie angle is at 70 degrees and the standard length is 34’’. Finished in black IP or gold plated, other options range from the steel shafted, to the more luxurious 2 to 5-Star putters that are graded on the technology and materials used in the hand-rolled ARMRQ shafts, plus gold and platinum embellishments in the club heads, ferrules and grips.
