Jaguar’s Compact Crossover Grows Up

-

The Jaguar E-pace, a premium compact SUV, is now more assertive, connected, refined and efficient; with a refreshed exterior, enhanced interior, the latest Pivi Pro infotainment, new vehicle architecture and a choice of powerful and efficient engines.

At first look, E-pace’s chiselled planshape and sculpted bonnet with restyled grille highlight its performance credentials. The dramatic roofline and side window graphic accentuates the sense of dynamism while new all-led headlights give E-pace an even bolder appearance, day and night. At the rear, the lights showcase the modernity of the overall design.

An optional Black Exterior Pack adds an even more dynamic appearance with bespoke elements finished in Narvik Black, and a choice of 12 wheel options includes four new diamond turned designs. The number of configurations is extensive.

Julian Thomson, Design Director, Jaguar said: “The new Jaguar E-pace features a range of design enhancements which further underline its dynamic capabilities as well as delivering a more refined and comfortable cabin. Elements include beautiful, contemporary details and seamless integration of the latest convenience technologies across both the interior and exterior. The overall result is a more grownup feel for the compact performance SUV.”

Delivering heightened luxury, enhanced connectivity, and greater refinement, the interior’s focal point is the curved 11.4-inch HD touchscreen which is double coated to be anti-glare and make wiping away fingerprints easier.

The Pivi Pro infotainment provides intuitive control of the vehicle systems with simplified menus and enhanced connectivity,

including Software-over-the-air (SOTA) updates. With Jaguar’s new design DNA, the simplified system carries out 90 per cent of common tasks within two taps from the home screen. The new Drive Selector’s soft upper trim features a ‘cricket-ball’ stitch inspired by British craftsmanship, while it’s precisionengineered metal cradle is sculpted for added tactility and an engaging feel.

The attention to detail extends to the metallic rotary dials and the new steering wheel with hidden-until-lit switches and metal gearshift paddles, while an embossed Jaguar Leaper on the headrests and ‘Est.1935 Jaguar Coventry’ upholstery tags brings Jaguar’s rich heritage to life in a contemporary way. Interior colourways include Ebony, Light Oyster, Deep Garnet, Caraway and Cloud options.

New E-pace features a five-engine line-up, including the new 1.5- litre Inline three-cylinder powertrain with both Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) and Plug-in (PHEV) technology.

The range topping 300 Sport is capable of 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds; and excellent efficiency and fuel consumption with CO2 emissions from 44g/km and fuel economy up to 2.0L/100km. In contrast, the 160PS 1.5-litre Ingenium petrol engine (FWD only) achieves CO2 emissions from 155g/km and fuel economy up to 6.7L/100km.

Plugged in, battery charge from 0-80 percent is achieved as little as 30 Minutes. There are three selectable driving modes – EV is solely by electric power for quiet, zerotailpipe emissions journeys; HYBRID is the default drive mode that optimises comfort and efficiency, seamlessly combining the electric motor and petrol engine; and SAVE prioritises the combustion engine as its primary energy source, saving electrical power for specific use, in urban areas for example.
