LIV GOLF IS COMING!

- Hubert Tang hubert@media-group.com.sg

Yes, golf’s frat party is coming to Singapore, and you’re invited.

Come 28th April, you’ll see a different side to Sentosa Golf Club and The Serapong, and more major champions in a single tournament than any other ever held in our Little Red Dot.

The three day event will see the likes of Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Bryson Dechambeau, Phil Mickelson, as well as former Singapore Open Champions Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia tee it up in a shotgun start 54 hole individual and team play format.

There’ll be no paddle boards asking for ‘quiet please’. This is golf, but louder. Supercharged with a festival like atmosphere and all manner of fan engaging activities. And if you’re not sure where to go, just follow your ears. DJS on turntables will keep the music thumping and live performances will keep the fans jumping.

If you’ve ever seen or been to the Waste Management Open in Phoenix Arizona, what goes on at the par three 16th Hole is totally outrageous. Fans queue for hours just to be able to get in on the action, and it may not necessarily be golf action that they’re interested in. I was asked by one very happy young lady, “What’s a putter?”

Closer to home, our F1 Night Race would probably be more representative of what the LIV Golf League event would be like when it’s staged here. An orderly party where everything has its place with appropriate moments for vocal self expression and a dance step or two. At least that’s my guess.

So are you ready to party?

Happy New Year.
