#Legend

#summer triumph

- STEPHEN SHORT / MANAGING EDITOR

# IF YOU’VE GOT, flaunt it. So let's. #legend is thrilled to have won an Honourable Mention at the Society of Publishers in Asia Awards ( below) for Excellence in Lifestyle Reporting. High and Mighty by Sam Agars and Michael Hoare, was compelling human interest at its best. Judges described the feature report on Hong Kong's urban exploration crews as “a fantastic fresh topic, well-written with great quotes and heart-stopping photos”. Great work, team. May it be the first of many accolades for #legend.

Back on terra firma, it's summer and the arrival of this issue may find you lounging by the beach or poolside but that hasn't stifled our appetite for strong commercial storytelling. Start with this month's cover star, Chiara Ferragni, the Italian businesswoman who turned a US$10 website investment in 2009 into today's US$12-million-dollar enterprise. From blog to e-mag and e-shop, The Blonde Salad (as Ferragni's platform is known) has been the focus of the first study of bloggers by Harvard University and will collaborate with Italian lingerie company Intimissimi to help stage Intimissimi on Ice at Arena di Verona, a Romanera amphitheatre. Ferragni tells #legend how she parlayed her passion for fashion, travelling and photography into a burgeoning business empire. All of which goes to prove, in today's contemporary digital culture, blondes have more funds.

As does self-propelling Jeetendr Sehdev, so-called world's leading celebrity branding authority, who advises blue-chip brands on strategic alliances with celebrities and talks popculture on CNN and Access Hollywood. The Oxford and Harvard scholar is also the author of The New York Times best-seller The Kim Kardashian Principle: Why Shameless Sells (and How to Do It Right). We discuss the digital fame ecosystem with him.

Fashion. It's the House of Dior's 70th anniversary this year. Fashion Director Kim Bui Kollar meets creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri in Shanghai and finds a super-nuanced sensibility in a designer who “just gets it” in matters of women and their wardrobes.

Music. We meet superstar DJ Kygo, who maintains more than 33 million Spotify users, and discuss making hits with Selena Gomez and his pending tour of Hong Kong and Shanghai. The pioneer of Tropical House, Kygo tells us his music is Summer House.

We wish you the best of the season wherever you may be looking or listening.

Happy summer.
