SIGNORINA SAIGON
The Reverie Saigon brings unabashedly opulent Italian styling to Ho Chi Minh City
THE REVERIE SAIGON is one of the grandest hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, with a level of service that is unparalleled. Opened just two years ago, the 286 rooms are expansive and the views of the Mekong Delta spectacular.
The hotel’s developers threw out the preconception that a hotel in a place as exotic as Vietnam should refer to the heritage of the country. Instead, they tapped the best designers in the world to create the look and feel of its rooms and suites. Designers for leading houses in Italy, including Colombostile, Giorgetti, Visionnaire, Poltrona Frau and Cassina, contributed to the endeavour.
Each suite has its own personality, whether it is classical and sophisticated, or romantic and whimsical, or anything else in between.
The Reverie Saigon boasts two Designer Suites by Giorgetti, a designer with a modernist bent. One is seductively sleek, yet intimate and refined. It is a sky-high retreat, with decor rendered in Italian silk and Italian mosaic tiles. The bedclothes are Frette linen.
The splendid marble bath has all the frills supplied by Hermès and Acqua di Parma.
Recommended activities include dining in private at the dining table of solid walnut, which sits beneath a beautiful chandelier of Murano glass, or soaking away any remaining vestiges of stress in a hot tub by a window onto an entrancing view of the storied Saigon River.
