REJOICE. GOOD TIDINGS hail from the Costume Institute at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art with news of next year’s Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Curator Andrew Bolton was about to launch the project two years ago when divine intervention struck – in the form of Comme des Garçons founder and director Rei Kawakubo, whose show took precedence and just finished in September. To be held from May 10 to October 8, 2018, the works will span the Vatican to Versace (the exhibition’s title sponsor), Lanvin, Balenciaga, Valentino and Chanel. Hark the herald angels sing and ready yourself for a fashionably worshipful New Year.
