Bella and better with Dior’s new Addict Lacquer Plump

PARTY ON, LADIES. Back in 2017, the

Dior Addict Lacquer Stick, a delightfully easy-to-use lacquer-balm hybrid, transformed our lip make-up habits. In 2018, Dior is pushing lacquer and lip care even further yet by creating Dior Addict Lacquer Plump, the first plumping lacquered lip ink.

“It is intensely colourful and long-lasting with unique radiance and shine effects, while its light texture provides incredible comfort,” explains Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Makeup.

This plumping lacquered lip ink is a genuine marvel of innovation from the Dior laboratories. Just like an ink,

Dior Addict Lacquer Plump colours the lips in varying shades for eight-hour-long wear. Like a radiant shiny plumper, it provides shaping, smoothing and plumping effects, and achieves new levels of hydration for an ink. Twenty-four hours after application, lip hydration levels climb by as much as 78 per cent.

The secret of this extended formula? An oil and water emulsion infused with colour and enriched with natural hibiscus extract for a plumping effect, hyaluronic acid for hydration and an ingredient that provides a fresh sensation.

Dior Addict Lacquer Plump is activated upon contact with the lips, revealing the intensity and shine of its lacquered finish. Mere seconds after application, colour and shine appear in a featherweight film.

“It’s a fascinating formula innovation. We have succeeded in pushing the limits of shine and extreme colour in various effects with a comforting lip-care formula and an ultra-fluid texture that you forget is there. Thanks to a generous sponge applicator that optimises shine and a lightweight texture, exactly the right quantity is intuitively applied to the lips in one sweep,” says Philips.

The Glitters family puts shine in the spotlight, but without the feel of glitter on the lips, and we’re under the spell of 538 Dior Glitz, a lurex coral. “The packaging was designed to give pride of place to colour with a Dior signature that emphasises each of the sparkling shades,” adds Philips.

And there’s some dazzling celebrity attachment, too. Having taken us into the thrilling atmosphere backstage with Diorshow and then to the Dior Lip Glow collection, the stunning Bella Hadid invites us to follow her to the after-show party. In a vibrant ambience brimming with the excitement of fashion, we discover Dior Addict Lacquer Plump with her. The atmosphere is electric! Seen through the lens of director Cass Bird, Hadid walks across a multicoloured dance floor in a subtle and seductive game of mirrors. She opens her Lacquer Plump, applies it with a sweep and displays perfect lips. “Dior Addict is a party! It’s all about colour, light and shine!” exclaims the top model. “Bella Hadid has sensual, full lips that are heightened by the shiny finish effect of our lacquered ink,” adds Philips.

Prolonging the new Dior Addict story, Philips has worked on three new nail lacquers in classic, neon and glitter finishes. And the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick collection, which won us over with its intense colour and lacquer shine in a lipstick formula, also boasts six new shades.
