A. Lange & Söhne heads into a new chapter with the release of its first stainless-steel integrated bracelet watch: the ODYSSEUS

WITHIN COLLECTOR CIRCLES today, A. Lange & Söhne is regarded not only as the pinnacle of fi ne German watchmaking, but also stands shoulder to shoulder with the greatest watchmakers of all time. Since the 1994 launch of a new collection by Walter Lange (a legend in his own right and the great-grandson of founder Ferdinand A. Lange) and Günter Blümlein, the revived brand has gone on to incredible success.

A quarter of a century since the duo resurrected the brand, A. Lange & Söhne debuts a sixth collection: the ODYSSEUS. The design is distinctly Lange – the day and date display on the striking dark-blue dial instantly recalls the “big date” function, a hallmark of the watchmaker’s style.

For years, watch connoisseurs have called for the brand to produce watches in steel and fi nally, for the fi rst time, it has made our wildest dreams come true with this elegant, sporty watch featuring an integrated bracelet design in stainless steel. Crafted to the brand’s exacting standards, it’s also the fi rst A. Lange & Söhne watch with a screw- down crown and is water-resistant to 120 metres.

What makes an A. Lange & Söhne watch so desirable is all in the details: the combination of the brushed surface and chamfered edges on the 40.5mm case; the elegantly tapered buttons on the case for correcting the date and day of the week at 2 and 4 o’clock, so thoughtfully made and easy to use; the subtle contrast of the notched appliqué baton hour markers against the grained inner surfaces of the main and subsidiary dials that play with the light; and the highly polished lancet-shaped hands that are luminous and glow in the dark. And of course, you can’t ignore the beautifully fi nished movement, the selfwinding calibre L155.1 DATOMATIC, which you can see through the transparent sapphire caseback.

The ODYSSEUS is completed with an integrated stainless-steel bracelet – a complex fi ve-row design with brushed surfaces and chamfered edges. The watch is designed for those with an active lifestyle, so the bracelet can be micro-adjusted up to 7 millimetres for the utmost comfort.
