WE’RE ALL COUNTING time lately. Whether it’s the minutes until Summer Friday or the days until we can finally get on a plane without the prospect of quarantine, if it’s not a calendar we’re looking to, it’s a wristwatch. So what better time than right now to present you with our annual watch issue?

For all you watch geeks, feel free to head straight to our watch report ( page 54) where you’ll find our round-up of the latest and greatest from Watches and Wonders 2021. There’s also a shoot ( page 40) in ode to that Olympic feeling, should anyone want some inspiration on how to dress up those movements, moonfaces and perpetual calendars. If that’s not enough, we’ve asked some of #legend’s favourite watch collectors for their pick of the lot should you be on the fence as to what to splurge on this season ( page 66).

But what about those who aren’t interested in timekeeping so much as they are just watching the world go by because it’s too hot and rainy to do anything else? Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Our fashion shoot “I Spy” (page 18) shows you all the ways you can keep tabs on your neighbours while looking most suave. And we have you covered beyond the clothes.

Selena Gomez’s new venture Rare Beauty has recently reached Hong Kong shores and the singer/entrepreneur talks to us about beauty standards and mental health

( page 30). We also speak to Sadie Sink about what makes her happy ( page 36) outside of her performance in cult Netflix series Stranger Things.

Should anyone wish to spruce up their place for prying eyes, Bali-based Ashley Bickerton is turning ocean flotsam into works of art ( page 100), French interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch is coming out with his own furniture ( page 104) and anyone who is longing to go to Japan can buy an Amoma Hiroo home freshly designed by Japanese interiors master Masamichi Katayama ( page 106).

Finally, Kayla Wong closes this issue with her 100 takes on time (page 120). But of course, if you’re not into any of this watching and time-ticking, there’s our cover star – the XPeng P7 – which will get you moving and take you wherever your heart desires (page 70).
