Lau Beats Full Field in Mid-Sum­mer Clas­sic

Ti­mothy Lau kept his cool in high tem­per­a­tures to win the 2018 Mid­Sum­mer Clas­sic Tour­na­ment with a round of 71. More than 190 com­peti­tors took part in the two-day event for Hong Kong Golf As­so­ci­a­tion (HKGA) sub­scribers at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fan­ling. Le­ung fin­ished on one over par around the New Course to beat Tang Kei Hin by just two shots.

The Ladies’ Gross Stable­ford di­vi­sion saw a three­way tied at 30 points. Vicky Tong, Char­lene Chung and He­len Che­ung shared the ti­tle. Che­ung also won the Ladies’ Nett Stable­ford di­vi­sion with 44 points. Chan Wai Ke­ung won the Men’s Gross Stable­ford di­vi­sion with 29 points, one bet­ter than Matthew Lam.

Else­where, the Clear­wa­ter Bay Golf and Coun­try Club was the venue for the 2018 HKGA June Stable­ford Tour­na­ment where Daniel Wan and Nor­ton Chan shared the Men’s Gross di­vi­sion ti­tle tied at 15 points over 9 holes. Stephanie Wong won the Ladies’ Gross di­vi­sion on 16. The Nett di­vi­sions were claimed by Gor­don Mak (23 points) and An­nie To (22).

Fur­ther tour­na­ments will take place for HKGA sub­scribers in July, in­clud­ing the July Stable­ford Tour­na­ment at Clear­wa­ter Bay and the Al­bert KW Lai Ju­nior Tour­na­ment at Fan­ling.
