MAKING A SPLASH
Fun and fabulosity with these timepieces
Patek Philippe 4899/901G – Calatrava
Ultra-luxe and ultra-feminine, this blinding timepiece from Patek Philippe is a vision with its varying shades of blue. Look closer and you’ll see the soft contours of the white gold case is studded with staggered rows of diamonds, while sapphires in varying intensities are interspersed throughout, making their way towards the centre of the engraved mother-of-pearl dial. The timepiece is finished off with a matte lavender-blue alligator leather strap with square scales, as well as a gem-set prong buckle.
Breguet Reine de Naples 8967
Fun and fabulosity come together in the newest iteration of Breguet’s Reine de Naples. In an unprecedented, but wholly welcome move, the sophisticated women’s timepiece features a denim strap and a striking blue-lacquered dial with turquoise blue scrolls. Achieving this was no easy feat – it requires a skilled artisan to place a touch of clear lacquer on still-liquid material, resulting in a spontaneous mix of colours akin to a unique painting. Flip it over to admire the 591C caliber and the engine-turned, solid-gold rotor through the transparent sapphire caseback.
Omega Seamaster 300
The Omega Seamaster 300 hardly needs an introduction. It’s a brand favourite with a history that dates back all the way to 1957. However, this year’s iteration of the timepiece will surely have people swooning with the combination of 18k yellow gold and malachite, a decorative stone in the most stunning shade of green. For the timepiece’s dial, the most captivating malachite from South Africa is used, which beautifully contrasts with the 41mm case’s golden sheen. Completing the watch is the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8913 and a complementary green leather strap.
Chopard L.U.C XPS Azur
While this ultra-exclusive Haute Horologie L.U.C timepiece was specially dedicated to the gentlemen making their way down the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, we can still take a moment to appreciate its fine craftsmanship and striking blue-clad hand-guilloché dial inspired by colours of the Riviera. The 10-piece limited series made of 18k ethical gold bears the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark and runs on the L.U.C 96.01-L movement. This is an aesthetic refinement at its best.
