Earlier in April this year, the Dassault Falcon 8X set a new coast-to-coast speed record flying from Santa Monica, California to Teterboro, New Jersey in just 4 hours and 28 minutes, beating the previous record by a clean 24 minutes.
It’s a tremendous feat for a business jet like the Dassault Falcon 8X, which is one of the largest business aviation jets on the market. It is even more impressive when you learn that the Santa Monica runway, from which the plane took off, only measures a mere 3,500ft. The notoriously short runway makes it difficult for ultra-longrange jets to take off from, but not for the Dassault Falcon 8X. The airplane only needed just 3,200ft of runway when it departed the airport at 8:08am local time. The 8X then landed in Teterboro at 3:36pm local time.
