Monogrammed munchies

-

There’s nothing like refuelling on a spirited shopping spree, which is why Louis Vuitton’s gourmet offering is sure to satiate shoppers as they wait for purchases to be packaged. Le Café V is Louis Vuitton’s first foray into F&B at its newest boutique in Japan, the Maison Osaka Midosuji. The café also guards a secret speakeasy entrance to Sugalabo V, Chef Yosuke Suga’s own take on his popular Sugalabo restaurant in Tokyo.

The brunch-esque menu at Le Café V include croque monsieur, wagyu beef dishes and crab macaroni au gratin, and decadent desserts like opera cake and mille-feuille. For drinks, gourmet coffees and a wide selection of international teas are available, as are beers, wines, champagnes and a fun earl grey-infused G&T for those who want something with a kick. While LV’s monogram may not be found on its dishes, the iconic pattern will be found on charger plates specially designed for the restaurant.

Designed by architects Jun Aoki and Peter Marino, the Maison Osaka Midosuji was made to reflect Osaka’s heritage as Japan’s port with its façade resembling sails of a Japanese cargo ship billowing in the wind.
