Rolls-Royce signs up for IATA’s 25by2025 Gender Diversity Campaign
In a bid to advance gender diversity in the aviation industry, Rolls-Royce has signed up for the International Air Transport Association’s 25by2025 campaign. RollsRoyce is the first aerospace business outside of the airline community to support this campaign that recognises the valuable contribution that women ma e to the industry. It is a commitment made to diversify its wor force and to promote more women into leadership roles.
“With only three percent of CEO positions in our industry held by women, we have a clear and recognised gender imbalance challenge that must be addressed,” shared Jacqueline Sutton, RollsRoyce, Chief Customer Officer – Civil Aerospace. “We are proud to be the first non-airline to participate in this exciting IATA initiative, which leads the way in ta ing the necessary steps to solving this issue. As a company, we are committed to the diversification of our wor force and to developing the many talented and gifted women among us into leaders of the future.”
As members of the campaign, RollsRoyce is committed on delivering on its promises to increase the number of women in leadership positions to a minimum representation of 25 percent by 2025 and will hold themselves accountable through annual reports on ey diversity metrics.
“25by2025 aims to improve gender diversity in aviation,” said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA Director General and CEO. “With Rolls-Royce joining, [it is] adding a new dimension to the campaign that was initially focused on airlines. Gender diversity needs to be a priority across value chain [as well].”
It is with hope that with Rolls-Royce signing up for the campaign that other industry partners will be inspired to participate in helping to balance gender diversity in the aviation industry.
