ADDITIONAL COSTS IN OWNING A JET
Aircraft insurance
Annual insurance payment varies depending on your plane’s make, model, age, how often you fly and where the plane is registered.
Crew salaries
Most private jet crews are contractors and receive a daily salary. Expect to pay around $400 to $700 per person each day.
Hangarage
Prices vary depending on where you are and the size of your jet. You will also need extra hangar insurance just in case something happens while it’s on the ground. Expect hangars to go for between $1,000 and $15,000 per month.
Taxes and registration fees
Some places have zero tax schemes for private jets, but you still need a Certificate of Registration, Certificate of Airworthiness, Permit to Fly, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul logs and Noise Cer tificate .
Maintenance
Nothing is cheap about a jet. Maintenance costs vary widely depending on the condition of your plane, and wear and tear. Even minor work can cost thousands.
Fly your planes to other countries where the work is cheaper, just be sure that the work done is authorised and accepted by the relevant aviation authorities.
Additional Fees
You’ll pay for jet fuel, fuel tax, and landing and towing fees each time you use your jet – costs that can be difficult to predict and depend on the countries you visit.
