WHAT IS LUXURY?
Boucheron probes the question that continues to elude generations with a new collection that fuses unusual materials and unconventional craftsmanship.
Among the answers that the French high-jewellery brand proposes is expressed in a bois brule diamant – diamond burned wood – necklace. The wood in question is a 3,000-year-old marsh oak that was charred using the Japanese chou sugi ban technique – which lends it both a stark colouration and an extraordinary resilience.
The exquisite piece challenges the notion that luxury can only reside in specific materials.
