SALONE FACTS & FIGURES
This year’s edition of the Salone del Mobile focused on sustainability and eco-friendly manufacturing solutions bent on protecting the environment. The fair witnessed many brands adhering to this clarion call.
The 60th edition of the Salone del Mobile was not only about six decades of global renown; it was also breakthrough in terms of attendance.
Over 262,000 visitors attended the six-day event—a phenomenal turnout considering that the world is just emerging from a two-year pandemic.
The attendees came from 173 countries, excluding the Chinese and the Russia contingents which accounted for more than 42,000 visitors in 2019.
The number of brands exhibited numbered 2,175, of which 27 per cent came from overseas. Some 600 fledglings from the design scene also made their appearance before an international crowd.
In addition, buyers made up 61 per cent of the crowd, and over 3,500 accredited journalists set foot at the fair.
The international furniture industry is constantly growing and evolving as Claudio Feltrin, president of FederlegnoArredo (Italian Trade Association), cited: “Italy offers a supply chain that brings together 70,000 companies, with 294,000 employees with a turnover of almost €50 billion.
The world anticipates next year’s fair to be bigger, better, and more eco-conscious. Salone del Mobile will be held from 18 to 23 April 2023.
